The Seventy-Two:

Feedback from Healing on the streets (HotS):
Pict2Initially for 20 weeks (October to December 2009 & January to March 2010) and now permanently every Saturday until the end of December 2010, teams of 8 people a Saturday are heading out on to the streets to offer 'Healing on the Streets' in South Harrow between 11.00am and 1.00pm.

Please find brief feedback from each team ... obviously this feedback is meant to provide a general overview as we can not give too many details!

Saturday 4th September:

On this overcast but dry autumnal morning about 15 people came forward for prayer, with others stopping to chat, and more taking away leaflets. Common prayer requests included knees, eyes, backs, a shoulder, hearing and sciatica as well as issues of work, income, accommodation and some personal matters. Some improvement was usually noticed, even if slight, and in one case knee pain stopped after prayer. We welcomed back several people who had been prayed for before and found this beneficial, including someone who received prayer before summer for a job and got one a few weeks later. One person reported having been prayed for in a similar way at the Grange Farm Fun Day last Monday (apparently unaware that we were the same people!!).

Saturday 28th August:

Awaiting information from Rebecca Peters ...

Saturday 14th August:

It was pouring with rain when we arrived but God speedily answered our prayers and the skies had cleared by the time we started. It seemed a little quieter on the streets however we still prayed for 22 people in total. Many more friendly conversations were had by those giving out leaflets. One happy lady returned to tell us that she had been completely healed after having prayer a month ago; she had been unable to walk and now had no pain at all and could walk with ease Thank you Jesus!

Saturday 7th August:

We immediately pray for a number of people at 11.00am but then it seemed hard going; so a couple of the team prayed around the area.  After that things picked up and we ministered to around 18 people, some testifying to feeling touched by the Lord in various ways.  We had a good conversation with a heroin addict (now on methadone) who was happy to be prayed for.  Interestingly, a young girl came running up from the hair dressers asking if they could have some of our leaflets for their shop and apparently the card shop has also asked for some too.  Thank the Lord for all that He is doing.

Saturday 24th July:

The team prayed for around 14 people. God was good and there was a steady trickle of people. The best bit was at the end when a lady came for prayer with chest pain; she was from a Muslim background (but had been in a catholic church many years ago) visiting a friend in Harrow. She said her friend was a Christian. The team member started talking and suddenly she asked how she could know Jesus; the team member found themselves opening the ‘Why Jesus’ book and she prayed the prayer of commitment - commenting afterwards that she ‘felt that’ as she was praying it. She certainly looked different when she left. We prayed for her chest pain too - all exciting stuff; I hope that she's discovering more of God each day.

Saturday 10th July:

What a fantastic morning - we had the pleasure of praying for 32 people. This meant we were very busy with very few times when there wasn't at least one person being prayed for and at times we were tripping over each other!! We even had someone come up to us when we were packing up. She was quite burdened with anxiety for her sister who is a drug addict. When we prayed for her she felt heat through her body and when she realised we were packing up was so pleased that she had managed to get in just in time! We had a few people who said they used to go to church and they felt they should go back again so we had some good conversations inviting people along to the various churches. We had a lady who came back and told us that someone had previously prayed for her to get a job and she had got one the following week. Praise God for a great morning.

Saturday 26th June:

We had a really encouraging and positive session this morning. Things were a little slow to begin with, but we had a steady stream of visitors and at one point had 4 chairs in use as we prayed for people, with a total of 20 people being prayed for. There were also a lot of very encouraging comments from those who didn't stop to pray, noting how loving and genuine the ministry is.  We prayed for a range of needs, including a painful back (which was much better afterwards) and knees, as well as for a couple of people with very distressing family situations. We were excited to receive a report from someone who had prayer a few months ago for an ovarian cyst, which had completely gone when she went in for pre-surgery.

Saturday 19th June:

A very windy morning.  It was slow for most of the time; there was a rush towards the end.  We prayed for 12 people and one lady, who complained of arthritis pain, said that she felt much better.  There were good conversations - with a number of people coming back for prayer, which was really good.

Saturday 5th June:

The weather was fantastic and we had a great morning praying for 23 people. It was very busy with all the chairs being full on many occassions. It felt like many people were happy to hang around and share with us a lot about themselves.  One of the team had been concerned during the week about a young woman who has been around previous weeks handing out leaflets about clairvoyant, palm reading stuff. The team member said she felt a little afraid of her - so not only was this young woman around again this week but she agreed to be prayed for and guess who got to pray for her, so our great God also dealt with the fear in the team member.  A woman who, among other things, was suffering from swollen ankles. As she was prayed for we actually saw the swelling in her ankles go down. You could actually see the shape of her ankle which had previously been all swollen.  The team had a great time and we really felt blessed and encouraged by what God was doing in peoples lives.

Saturday 29th May:

A very wet session; the team were brilliant in braving the rain to hand out lots of leaflets, however only 5 people had prayer, several of these were Christians. Two people gave prayer requests when handed a leaflet but could not stop - most people were in a hurry as it was wet and windy. One person commented that it was good to see us there even in bad weather.

Saturday 22nd May:

Saturday was a brilliantly sunny day and we had the privilege of praying with around 18 people.  During our preparation and prayer time one of the team felt we should be sensitive to those who were 'crying' and sure enough we had someone who needed comfort and help in this area.   We prayed for people with conditions such as schizophrenia, alcoholism and lupus; we trust that these people will keep in touch with the teams and get more prayer. We also had some good conversations about knowing Jesus and one of the team members ended up having a long chat with a women who had been prayed for and then sat down on a bench nearby.

Saturday 15th May:

A pleasant day, mostly sunny. Many people were happy to stop for a brief chat. We prayed for 15 people with a wide variety of ailments and needs, including a couple of return visits. One person confirmed a word received in prayer that was given to her on the street. Another person felt happier after prayer for a wide range of problems. Someone with difficulty walking is believed to have improved since prayer on a previous occasion. We also spoke with several other people who expressed interest but didn't want to stop for prayer this time and said they would like to return: it is a great advantage to be here regularly.

Saturday 8th May:
Well, despite being only a team of six (four people were unable to join … but two stepped in at the last moment), it being bitterly cold, intermittent wet/miserable weather and not having been in South Harrow for two weeks (I don’t think we have estimated the power of being there each week – maybe a two week absence didn’t help us this morning), we did have the privilege to pray for 13 people during the 2 hours. At one point, the team were huddled under the gazebo for a warming cuppa when two (separate) individuals wondered in – one wanting prayer for a sick relative and another seeking prayer for themselves!! We were able to minister healing to a number of people and had several people wanting us to pray for family/friends. We had some lovely conversations – including with a man (who approached us asking for a leaflet) who previously come to faith through a miraculous healing and wanted to know more about what we were doing … and two people who prayed the 'prayer of faith' with team members.

 Saturday 17th April:

We had a lovely sunny day and prayed for 22 people. There were a couple of words of knowledge beforehand - one was that several teenage boys would come for prayer about their exams and three did.   While we were setting up a lady was waiting for prayer. Her sister had been prayed for previously and had suggested she see us while she was staying with her. Another lady had had prayer previously for her condition. She was due for an operation and when she went back to the doctors she found that it was not needed. She now wanted more prayer for another condition. There were several people who commented that they felt heat when we laid hands on them to pray and several who said they felt God's love and presence.  We were very encouraged as God gave us a few very accurate words of knowledge about people and those people came for prayer.

Saturday 10th April:

We were blessed with bright sunshine - as 30 people came to be prayed for. One of the team members commented 'there seemed to be an ease to the morning' and the Lord made our work light; many people saw the banner and approached us without having to be handed a leaflet! At times all the chairs were full and there were people waiting for us. We saw new faces, had return visits from some and lots of good conversations with others. It was an extremely encouraging morning and a pleasure to see God at work.

Saturday 27th March

It was a really amazing week. The showers and rain didn't seem to put people off being prayed for, in fact it just seem to bring more people out. It was great to see God touching so many people in very visibly moving ways. One man came back and told us his kidneys were now much better since he was prayed for last week. Another women came back for more prayer on her wrist, as it had started to improve. We prayed for many with Diabetes and Arthritis, as well as some more personal issues. We prayed for over 20 people and there seemed to be a steady flow of people coming forward for prayer. There were also quite a few good conversations with people and many asked and seemed interested about which church they should go to.

Saturday 13th March:

We had a delightful time together. We were able to minister to each other before 11am & then pray for 27 – I think it fair to say that we had a steady and gentle stream of people wanting prayer. Probably worth mentioning two peoples comments after being prayed for – one person commented that they “felt a very different vibe” after being prayed for and one team member felt led to encouraged someone who had been prayed for that they could speak to Jesus themselves directly and received the surprised reply “can I – I didn’t know that”.  I think we had some lovely conversations with many people this morning – including some we didn’t get to pray with this morning but said that they would be back.

Saturday 6th March:
It was a cold but sunny morning. We prayed for 8 people - 3 of whom had been prayed for before. We were particularly encouraged to see a man with a painful back and knee, which the doctors have said they were unable to help, experience heat and a considerable increase in movement.

Saturday 27th February:
The day was grey and overcast with rain an ever present threat. As we prepared to set up a heavy downpour begun so we worshiped the Lord and by 11.00am the rain had completely stopped. Thankfully the next two hours were pretty much dry – but we were glad of the gazebo though. We prayed for several, although numbers were somewhat down on previous weeks. Some people were returned having been prayed for before and finding that God had helped them. We prayed for one man, who alongside a bone disease, was somewhat down of spirits. On being asked if he felt anything after being prayed for, he said that a great feeling of contentment had come over him, he felt much happier and was going to work and would 'tell someone'. This change of mood was matched by the big smile that lightened up his face. Praise God the Kingdom is advancing step by step by step.

Saturday 20th February:
The weather was cold and sunny. In the first hour and a quarter we prayed for about 6 people. However, in the last 45 minutes we prayed for 15 people. At least three people returned to us after being prayed for previously and said how God had healed and/or changed their situations in amazing ways (e.g. one ladies husband has just come through alcohol rehab successfully). When we were handing out leaflets there were many really great conversations - people seemed really positive and where taking leaflets away & saying that they would come back.

Saturday 6th February:
The weather was good and there was a sense of openness and receptivity amongst the people we met. We had a really encouraging time and had the opportunity to pray for 20 people. We were particularly excited to pray for a Muslim man who experienced a complete healing of a very painful ankle which he had had for about six months - he was in tears at the end. We also prayed for several Christians from other churches, including one lady went away 'leaping for joy' after receiving significant healing for her knee which she is due to have replaced soon, and another family who were coming to terms with a very recent bereavement. We also saw a few people returning from previous weeks, including a lady who has come numerous times and shared much more of her personal situation.

Saturday 30th January:
The team prayed for 21 people this morning, got frozen solid and were much encouraged by a woman who was there when we set up wanting to report that our team had prayed for her some weeks back and her heart & colon condition had been completely healed so that she didn't need an operation. Praise God!

Saturday 23rd January:
Today started another term of HotS. Although it was freezing cold we praised God it wasn't snowing or wet! Yet again there were many who wanted to be prayed for and many were touched by God's presence. One man who had a painful shoulder had no pain at all once he had been prayed with. A lady whose husband we had prayed for previously came back to tell us he was much better.

Saturday 12th December:
Today was a beautiful sunny morning to end our first block of 10 weeks of Healing on the Streets. We also had some Carol singing and gave out some sweets and information on the Christmas services at the various churches. Thanks to all the Carol singers who came along. We were very encouraged as a lady came back to thank us for praying for her a few weeks ago - her husband who was very ill is now getting better and is coming off his medication. Her son who was having problems at school has had a fantastic report and is much happier at school. Praise God. We also prayed for a lady whose shoulder was much better after prayer. Many other people were visibly feeling God’s presence as we prayed for them. We are really pleased and excited to see what God is doing in people’s lives and we pray for more of His miraculous power as we look forward to next term. Thanks to all who have been part of the HotS teams.

Saturday 5th December:
We were blessed with good weather and yet more opportunities to pray for all sorts of needs. One lady came back once again for prayer for an eye and heart condition. Another lady didn't want to stop at first but then came back 10 minutes later to ask for prayer for herself and her mother. We were privileged to pray for a total of 20 people, and had at least two people report feeling heat in their knees and elbow, and a lot of people experiencing God's peace.

Saturday 28th November:
We have returned once again very encouraged by what we saw - not to mention that we had blue & dry skies all morning. We had the privilege of praying for 24 people in the two hours. There was a really mixture of people from all walks of life, ages, those returning after being prayed for in previous weeks etc. We noted this morning that about 4 people/families brought young children to be prayed for. We also had a delightful story of one man who was prayed for last week, who was so touched by how we prayed & how he felt afterwards that he brought his wife for prayer this week. They left saying that they would be coming back again next Saturday to bring their child!!

Saturday 21st November:
We were really blessed with good weather on Saturday morning, and 15 people came to be prayed for. Many people who came to be prayed for, were wanting to ask God to break the power of various addictions in their lives. This was both challenging and encouraging that people would come and ask us. It was great to see God touching many people.

Saturday 14th November:
It was very wet and extremely windy this morning as we prayed for people on the streets. Two people braved the weather to come for prayer - one of these experienced a real surge of heat through her body. We gave out lots of leaflets and had many friendly conversations with people who were interested in coming to church and/or coming for prayer on another occasion when the weather was better. As before we were very glad to know and be able to tell people that we would be back next week. We were also glad to have read in our prayer time the account of Jesus and Peter walking on the water in the middle of a storm from Matthew 14.22-end!

Saturday 7th November:
The team had a lovely sunny couple of hours; and we had the privilege to pray for 23 people – two people saw immediate healings (neck and knees) and a Muslim man became a Christian. Many people were visibly ‘touched’ by God when they were prayed for. At many points during the couple of hours we had all the team praying for people. It is also lovely to have people coming back – to let us know how they have got on (and there were some lovely stories) and to ask for further prayer. An exciting time. Keep praying folks.

Saturday 31st October 2009:
Today 20 people were prayed for - with many saying that they felt a sense of peace and the presence of God. It was hugely encouraging to see so many people open and wanting to be prayed for - with a few asking if we would be there again next week. Some came back to tell us of healings that had happened since being prayed for in previous weeks. Praise God.

Saturday 24th October 2009:

SHotS1

We prayed for 19 people - three of which were people who had been prayed for in previous weeks and returned for more prayer. Some people were visibly touched by God as we prayed for them. The rain held off until 1pm when we packed up.

Saturday 17th October 2009:
We were hugely encouraged by what we saw happening today - we prayed for 13 people and one person reported a significant improvement in their back pain, another young man felt heat deep inside his shoulder where he has been suffering great pain for 10 years and a homeless man was really encouraged and expressed interest in coming to Alpha. There were also several people who had good conversations with the leaflet team and have said they will come back or bring others they know who need healing.

Saturday 10th October 2009:

What a great start - God is good.  The Weather was fantastic
and we prayed for 15 people.  While we didn't see any dynamic miracles some people said they felt some improvement/a little bit better and many felt peaceful about their situation after being prayed for. It felt really good to be able to say that we will be here every Saturday to pray for them. I think many people felt God's presence and we (the team) all felt very positive about it. We had one lady who gave us some indian food which was very much appreciated once we tidyed up and did some feedback.
